Learn one Chinese Character a day - 矢

We just learnt that 病 is to represent sickness inside body originally, Chinese ancestors created a new character to mean injury or wounds. Before that we need to prepare ourselves with what we will learn today - 矢.

It should be quite clear about the meaning of 矢 now when we look at its Oracle Script . An arrow obviously!

Comparing 矢's Oracle Script with , it is very clear that Chinese ancestors improved their arrows a lot during Oracle Script period itself. It is also why ancient scripts of Chinese characters are actually a most vivid encyclopedia that accurately reflects livings, culture, technology development and etc of ancient people & their society.

so 矢 means arrow. And 矢 is also extended to mean going forward straightly as an arrow flies.
