It has been taught in our previous lesson that 豕 means Pig. However
豕 is eventually used only as Radical to form other Chinese characters. Chinese ancestors then added meat (which is "月") to 豕 to create 豚 to mean
Fatty Pig in place of
豕.
It can be clearly proved by the evolution history of 豚 ( image get from http://www.vividict.com)

Oracle Script of 豚

豕 () with an extra meat (
). Seal Script
has clearly show the idea of add meat (
) to Seal Script of
豕 (). After that it continued as Clerical Script till current "豚".
豚 means Fatty Pig.
